Just thought I would pass this info along. I ordered a Savage Model 25 Lightweight Varminter 22 Hornet from my local gun guy, but having trouble getting it. After waiting about a month, I called Savage and they say since it is "new" model, they just began shipping them the first of August. Initially they send out a batch to "suppliers" who in turn fill orders from "dealers" (like Cabela's or any other gun store). What is being shipped now are small batches of "sample or demo models", then bigger batches when the orders start rolling in. Savage says an order can take up to 20 weeks to fill. So, when will I get mine?....they have no idea. The odd thing I don't understand is that awhile back these were being sold on Gunbrokers.com, but by the time I got around to making a decision, the ads disappeared. I didn't think this model, which is a remake of the Model 40, was that new. If anyone out there sees one, let me know. Tom
