how can they proclaim these guns the 11 most accurate when these are the only guns they tested?

Well, Todd1700. Welcome to THR!
You make some excellent observations.

Nothing quite like making a splash with your first comment. :)

That's a good idea but I think it would turn into a brand war. There would have to be some sort of checklist/criteria to keep the info standardized. There are some folks who don't own more than one or two brands and have to justify their purchase by demanding what they bought is the best. The other thing that happens is some people buy multiples of cheaper guns and when they get a fluke that shoots really well they post the groups and allow people to believe this is typical for the brand.

Maybe it could be a poll by brand and we could check what our AVERAGE groups are if we own that brand/model.

I really don't care about the "Accuracy Challange". Sending in targets of "supposed" groups means absoluley nothing. I don't even care if the targets are "certified".

Reading many posts about accuracy and groups, people on the internet out shoot David Tubb and many other top shooters. After all, it's on the internet so it must be true!

Also, just because a rifle shoots MOA or sub-MOA at 100-200 yards doesn't mean it will maintain that MOA at all distances.

I would do a head to head shoot though. Equal conditions, just the shooter and the rifle. And not at 100 yds., how about 600-800 yds., heck, if your going to shoot for accurracy shoot at a distance. I can throw a brick and hit the target at 100 yds (not really), but you know what I mean.

I think the Weatherby Vanguard is a great rifle but #1 in accuracy out of the box... I don't know about that.

Also, really... why isn't the Tikka T3 on the list?

At least there's a Sako on the list.

I'm surprised to see the S&W I-Bolt on the list but the Browning X-Bolt doesn't surprise me. Does anyone know anything about the S&W I-Bolt? Is it really that good out of the box??? I bet Thompson has a lot to do with the I-Bolt's design. It was probably built from the ground up by T/C.

without proof you fall into this second category you cite

The "Mustang guy" responses to the match are quite amusing to say the least.

Just like when the Mustang Guy gets called the excuses start.

My car is too fast to controll

My rifle is too accurate to see 100yd groups

I'll only race for $2000

100yds don't mean anything

I think a lot of THR members don't want to participate in the "Accuracy Challenge" because of the possible criticizm. THere are no shortage of folks waiting to rub your nose in it if they have a better group. What most folks want to know is average performance, not guns that are freaks of nature for their brand. Even on this thread there is criticizm of those who wish not to participate. As if their unwillingness would suggest they don't have accurate rifles.

Do tell, just what are you trying to say ...

He's trying to say you are using an excuse to not compete. That the people who wish not to compete would only do so because they do not have good enough gear or shooting skills. The whole thing is almost as childish as the "Accuracy Challenge" itself.

LOL, "Horsemany", you made me smile and laugh. I feel that you posted exactly what he ("krochus") should have said in the first place. But using the correct wording must have failed him.

There's probably a four page fold out add for S&W/TC right in the middle of that article.

Take a look at CZs. I have the rimfire model but if the centerfires are as good as my 452 is, it will be a great gun. (and it doesn't hurt that they look better then Savages)
