Sawed off bb gun?

For fun, I cut down the barrel on a Crosman 760, the common multi pump airgun that sells at walmart for about $30. Cut just beyond the barrel band that holds the pump pivot. For any given number of pumps, velocity seems to have dropped slightly, but not much. Noise, on the other hand, seems to have increased significantly. Accuracy is about the same. Keep in mind that these guns have a smooth bore. Surprisingly accurate for what they are, but not 50 yd tackdrivers. It relies on the skirted pellets for accuracy. BBs are worse, and seem to really turn into fliers at higher pumps. The sweet spot for BBs seems to be about 3 or 4 pumps. I crowned the barrel after cutting.

It was fun and the result is a hoot to shoot.

So is a 10 ga Marlin Goose Gun with 34" barrels.

I am not sure how some folks make holes for attaching a safe backstop for kids to shoot BB Guns, but a Goose Gun will git 'er done, and it sure beats walking 15 steps to the truck for a cordless drill.

*it is all good*
