Attended my first machinegun shoot and shot my first MG. An acquaintance from another forum invited me and let me try some of his guns. I tried a pair of 45 ACP subguns and two 5,56 rifles. Quite an experience but after watching all that goes into keeping these things running I don’t think it’s for me. Was fun to shoot them once, though.

I was surprised at all the big guns. I expected a bunch of MACs and M16s but there were many, many tripod-mounted 30 and 50 caliber guns. There were even a pair of Mini-Guns there and that’s something to hear being fired!

Here I am firing a subgun. Yes, I’m a big fat guy and yes I always wear brightly colored shirts to the range. When guns are going off I want everyone to know exactly where I am at a glance.

iamaclone_2 maybe shooting the same gun. I saw a lot of guys wearing handguns but that seemed unnecessary with all the high-powered hardware laying about.

I thought this was cute. This girl was maybe 10 years old and she was shooting a full-auto Ruger with a 22 kit.

Here is one of the old cars used for targets. Resale is for crap at this point. I especially liked it when the tire caught fire.

Here are some additional photos. One of the many .30 cal Brownings on hand. Got links?

Speaking of links… and brass… (That pile grew much larger as the day went on.)

We have a big full-auto shoot around here once a year and it's a real hoot. Nothing like a Ma Deuce or two to liven up a crowd!

[That's one expensive way to spend a day!
/QUOTE] +1
One shot=1 X-ring
5-10 full auto =1 X-ring+ 4-9 wasted bullets.

Think of the range time wasted vs one round at a time !

I must not be from this planet.
