What do you shoot out of it? Great looking rifle. Is the barrel 28" or 32"?

Barrel is 30 - 30.5" and is 1 1/8" across the entire flats.

Havent shot it, not sure if i will as its a little out of my league lol. The bore is pristine as well as the action. Who ever owned it, did not do a lot of shooting with it.

460gr no excuse and 70gr 3fg should do the job!

45 70? Does that mean 45 caliber bullet with 70 grains of FF?

That's going to be interesting to shoot. The .45-70 cartridge launched a .458 grain bullet, so you're going to have to mike the bore to see what conicals will work, since it may not be capable of launching .440 round ball patched, with so tight a twist if the rifling is shallow by comparison to round-ball barrels. Might still work though. You might find that it may shoot lead .430 Remington bullets, which are .446 diameter https://www.midwayusa.com/product/5...-grain-lead-flat-nose-spg-lubricant-box-of-50 or you might be able to make something like a .430 bullet work with a paper patch https://www.midwayusa.com/product/6...-diameter-300-grain-lead-flat-nose-box-of-250. If the OTC bullets don't work because they are alloys, you might have to cast your own
