I guess what's unfair and what's not is in the eye of the person paying said tax...things like the military costs $...even in 1812..The trend toward listing on forum "traders" will be interesting. Seems some have forgotten that This country was based on overturning unfair taxation.
I was not aware of this. Perhaps they will be more supportive of the little guy.GunBroker is also in the process of being acquired by Ammo, Inc. for "vertical integration"- I hope that doesn't kill the site.
In Ca I’ve been having tax collected at the FFL
But now Gunbroker collecting sale tax as well, so are you paying tax twice? In Washington state .... The tax is usually collected by the receiving FFL
Correct and just like the first 3 stimulus packages(totaling over $3.5 TRILLION).The money the states collect may be enormous and prolly be diverted (stolen) before it does any good for constituents. Add in runaway inflation folks may stop buying non essentials altogether. The so called stimulus money may bring a small peak in sales but creates a debt that may never be repaid except for the tax most must pay on the stimulus money itself.

BUT Most economic brainiacs don't expect anything except a modest 2% or so inflation for the next 3-4 years....past 4 years national debt was $7.8 trillion.
For info....
May have said before but trying to help friends family by selling off his stuff. Since they did the tax thing the number of NPBs have gone way up and completed sales down. Almost All NPBs are for taxed items so sure it has something to do with it. Think they are unaware of the tax until invoiced and then they just "dissapear". Sadly all parties suffer, We must relist items and GB permanently disables their account and may share (sell) their info. One likely result is sellers of items with a BIN option being contacted outside of GB and completing sales that way much more frequently than before. Businesses that don't do enough revenue in any given state are not required to collect sales tax for that state (for now, anyway). Which is why the powers that be went after the marketplaces like ebay and now GB.
Sales tax on new items I don't have a problem with. I grudgingly accept tax on used stuff being sold by a business with a tax ID. But taxing private party sales? They already got their piece once, there's no way to look at it except double taxation. Bad enough we get hammered on motor vehicles, but in that case you're being taxed to use it on public roads, not simply for acquisition. That's a sham, too, though, at least here where they tax based on blue book value, not what you actually paid. When I registered a truck that I got for $1,200 because it had major mechanical problems, my ownership tax was still based on a $5,800 "good condition" blue book value. After that hosing, you can bet I didn't pay tax on the parts to fix it.
