Would you folks that own the newly manufactured Winchester Model 70 Sporters offer up an opinion about how happy you have been with your results? Thanks...

I sold both my Remington 700 ADLs and bought a M70 SS Extreme and a M70 Sporter in 30-06.

It was one of the best gun decisions I have ever made. These new M70s are excellent rifles. I could not be happier. I like every single thing about these rifles better than the Remington 700.

I think you're on the right track by looking at the new Winchesters. I have one of the the new super grades in .30-06 and it is an amazingly nice rifle. The best thing to do is go to the nearest shop that carries Winchesters and take a look at them yourself. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I have a sporter M70 in .270, and it is awesome. Great rifle. Great action. Great trigger. Accurate as well. I love it. Get one, you won't be sorry.

My only regret was not going with the '06. I guess it doesn't matter, but...

I have a M70 EW in .30-06 Sprg...it shoots to 3/8" with my match handloads (47.0gr of IMR 4895 under a 168gr SMK, CCI BR2 primers) from a Caldwell Lead Sled. I had been admiring it for a while and after trying the action, decided I had to have one. Great rifle. My next may be a Featherweight SS or Supergrade. Browning nailed this one. I'd love to see them bring out a .280 Rem, but if not, the .308 Win or 7mm RM beckons.

Their Supergrade is great. I would have to put some tape on the barrel as it isso shiney, deer could see the reflection miles away. But I am still going to get one.
