Last time I tried to get some THR members together for a shoot I failed miserably. I thought it might be because I smelled bad or something, so I took a shower before posting this time :D

Somebody throw out some dates. Here's one: Saturday, December 13.

Mid Carolina is still my preference, but I can drive most anywhere in the state I guess. C'mon guys (and gals?), I really DON'T smell that bad :uhoh:
 
MCRC would be great...actually, this Saturday (13 Dec) is the Toys for Tots IPSC match. Registration starts at 0815, IIRC.

They won't let me shoot in the match, though...I just joined on Monday, and the range brief isn't until 1400. But I'd still love to shoot.
 
My brother's a member out there (MCRC) so I guess he and I might be able to make it. Would we still be able to shoot if there's an IPSC match going on? I'm assuming they don't last all day, but I really have no idea.

I believe the range is closed for the Toys for Tots shoot...Its a big match with 200 shooters expected.

2nd Annual Mid-Carolina Rifle Club Toys for Tots Match is scheduled for December 13th. Details Click Here. Anticipated 6 stage match consisting of at least 150 rounds. The entry fee will be a $15.00 toy or a $15.00 donation to Toys for Tots. All USPSA divisions and classes will be recognized. Registration will start at 9:15; walk-through and safety briefings at 9:45; and shooting will start at 10:00.

Our first T4T match was a success and we hope to make this one even more successful. For those that couldn't attend last year's match, we collected enough toys to completely fill the full-size Dodge van that the Marines brought to pick-up the toys. We also collected about $750.00 in cash. Sponsors donated over $2000.00 in prizes, which were awarded to competitors through a random drawing. By getting an earlier start, I anticipate that this match will be bigger and better!

I highly recommend y'all come down if you've never been to an IPSC match before. This is a pretty good one.

I'd probably be up for one sometime. Where is this mid-Carolina Rifle Club, and what sort of competition is it this weekend? How far from Clemson is it? (or Greenville, if you don't know where Clemson is)
 
Langenator, you can shoot in the match....

The range briefing is for members. Most of the people shooting are not members...

I don't have a problem going up there during a match. Watch the match, then when they're done we can start shooting. They usually get done around noon, but since this is a big match it could go on for longer. I don't have anything to do that day, so I don't have a problem hanging out until everyone else clears out.

Like I said before, I just threw out that date so we'd have a starting point. I didn't look at the MCRC calendar or anything. If anyone else would like to propose a date, I'm all ears....
 
I dunno about the time. The gates shouldn't be locked because of the match, so we don't have to meet somewhere else. Seems like we could just drift in any time during the match or afterward. We can't shoot until the match is over anyway....

I wouldn't mind seeing some of the match, it just depends on how late my work keeps me up the night before.

Anyone want to help me out? :evil: Personally, I'm booked until after Christmas. But I get off work on the afternoon of the 23rd and don't return until the 5th of Jan. :neener: :neener: Might have some time in there to go shootin' or huntin'!
I've got an idea, if you cannot make it for the Toys for Tots shoot, make it to the Toys for Ta-Ta's event at Platinum Plus! :what: (strip joint for you non locals)
 
I think I'm going to skip the IPSC shoot...just realized that I'm zero-balance on .40 (the only pistol I have a holster for). My wife is going to her make-up mafia meeting at around 11, so I'll probably move out at the same time.

I'll be the tall lost-looking guy with the well-worn SF Giants hat.
 
bah, I'm in ATL but would gladly make the trip, heck I'll even be in Cola this weekend and monday.

too bad 15+ family members from all over the east coast will be there too. wife is graduating from USC school of medicine with a PhD on monday, so my weekend is booked solid.

The calendar says the match is scheduled to end at 2:30pm. I may be over on the GP bay before then.
 
Well, I obviously didn't make it up there today :( My boss called this morning about a break in a case that we've been working on and things just fell apart after that. Did anyone else make it?
 
I made it out at 2:00 for my new member range brief...didn't see anybody matching the descriptions given on here during our tour.

Gun show at the state fairgrounds next weekend!
