Hey guys, I just finished up cleaning my SCAR and I noticed a few nicks on the bolt. I'm alittle worried and I called FN and they said to just send it in. I was wondering if I should send it in or just not worry about it and see if it gets worse. Im right over 600 rounds and all has been brass cases. I usually buy extra parts for all my rifles. I just don;t want to spend 60 bucks for FN to tell me that Im suffering from new parent syndrome, lol
Best picture I could take guys. Sorry

If they are cool about it send it in.
Edit: did not see the $60 part. Is their no warranty?

What nicks? That bolt looks great!

There have been some bolt damage problems, mostly wih people using Pmags which causes the bolt catch to hit the bolt repeatedly. Yours doesn't look like that.

Looks fine to me.

I've always wanted a SCAR, but if you can't get spare parts I probably wouldn't shoot it.

Can you circle what you think are nicks? Offhand it looks fine to me.

FWIW: I've used FNH customer service once and they were terrific. Of course I would not abuse their service attitude.

If you're talking about the notch at about 6:30 on the bolt, that's the way it's supposed to be.
Check fnform.net for a write-up on the bolt face and the P-Mag issue in their SCAR 16S section.

I've had no problem acquiring my 'normal' spares: firing pin, extractor, recoil spring. I've got most my FN rifle spares from http://strykerent.com/ as he has good prices and service. Factory support isn't bad either.
