Scheels sporting goods put up a store close enough for me to get to. And while I was checking out the scope selection, the salesman was showing me their store barnd scope. It was a Scheels Icon Hunter in 4-12x42 I believe. Looked well built, and was very clear. I believe it was in the $240-250 range. But came with a lifetime, basically unlimited warranty. Anyone have any experience with these, good or bad?

For that money you might as well go with Leupold or Nikon. I am sure the Scheels scope is off some big name assembly line and a clone to a current or discontinued big name product but if you ever go to sell it it wont be worth anything.

One of my nephews has Scheels binoculars. His brother has a Scheels scope. Both items were mid grade or better, not top of the line, nor basement either.

Both of the devices has pronounced flare when the sun angle is just right.

I would test it outdoors against similarly priced name brand items before you buy it.
