School Board and My Boss want to meet..

Today I received a letter in My Box concerning the letter I wrote with the help of HSO helping Me with the editing seems they want meet with Me and receive my input,on the direction we should go ,Thanks again HSO the ball is Rolling..I will keep evryone posted...

Don't focus on the rare situations, unless they are catastrophic.

Reiterate the real experience you had and the threat to your kids on the bus. Don't come across as some Rambo looking to engage in a firefight. You will flee with your kids whenever possible, but when no other option is left to you the ability to protect them to the end unlike the driver who was shot a week ago is important for them to think about.

Point out that staff and drivers are responsible for the safety of children differently than educators and that you've taken steps to get additional training in anticipation of learning what is available for staff. Do NOT admit to carrying a firearm YET. You wanted to bring this plea to them and help them establish a program before you took that final step.

Do you know any other drivers that would volunteer for such a program? Other staff? Can you reliably cite that "X number of drivers/staff" have expressed an interest?

Seeking My co-workers support..

We are having a union Mtg this week I have been given the ok from regional Union officials to solicit the 63 Drivers and 4 Mechanics for their support ,I know of 4 that will be dissenting probably more due to religious convictions and left wing agendas they believe ..It should be a majority though.after all Its for their safety and those children they are respondsible for...I will be pointing out as they are all well aware of the possibility of Legal action if they where involed in a situation and a parent or guardian held them respondsible for their failure too protect their child.
