Prefer pistol grip and adjustable LOP so the ladies/kids can use it too.

Gave up looking for one for the Winchester 1300.

TIA.

I haven't heard of any that are any good. There is a review on the Knoxx stock. Instead of it punching you in the shoulder, it redirects it to you cheek. I heard it also causes the gun to fish-tail when you shoot. I guess there is a version 2 but I don't know if it is any better or not.

There is also one of these which I don't know too much about. I heard they are pretty good compared to the AR style stock.

Could go with a youth stock that has 12" lop and a pachymer limbsaver pad. Will cut felt recoil by 40 percent or so. You will shoot fine on the shorter stock and it will work for kids and the wife. I really didn't care for the Knoxx stocks I tried about 5 years ago.

OK, here's the rest of the story... already have reduced recoil ammo, the stock had already been cut down to youth/lady size when I bought it. My thought on the pistol grip was to reduce the chances of bruised/bloody noses from the thumb on the shooting hand. I have other shotguns I can use, but I figured adjustable LOP would make it more versatile; if that makes it worse (like putting recoil into the cheek, then that would be good to know.

Your thumb should not be that close to your nose; secondly the pistol grip will transmit more recoil to the web of the hand - a smaller area than the pocket of the shoulder - that will hurt more

This shows you the fish tail thing I am talking about. Like I said, I don't know if the gen 2 is any better. But one thing to note is they are shooting slugs and 00 buck I think. So with bird shot it might not be that bad and might actually help. If you go to 14:30 it shows a slow-mo of the fish tail I am talking about where the gun wiggles left and right after you shoot and they say that you feel disconnected from the gun when firing.

An entire generation of GIs shooting short-stocked M1903 Springfield rifles learned how to fix that problem.

Just shift your shooting hand thumb over and rest it on the knuckle of your trigger finger... That'll do it.

My Ver 1 worked great in absorbing recoil but tended to stick in the rear position and pop forward a few seconds later. Blackhawk replaced it with a Ver 2. I have not tested the Ver 2 yet but given that it is aluminum on polymer vs polymer on polymer, I expect no issues.

I was using the folding wire frame one not the M4 type, so I cannot comment on whether it smacks you in the face.

I only bopped my nose once with my thumb while shooting slugs prone. It was amazing how I learned not to do that again.

Try using a PAST recoil shield. Worn on the sholder. You can shoot anything all day long and get black and blue or the flinches. No stock mods or rubber butts needed.

I have tested out several of these over the years and seem to inevitably go back to my original factory stock. Unlike you though, I am not really partial to the pistol grips so it was more about the recoil. It is a personal preference thing but I have yet to use one that really reduces recoil measurably enough to be worth it.

Here's a vote for the Spec Ops recoil reducing stock by BlackHawk.

I had the Knoxx recoil reducing stock. My nephew has Asperger's syndrome and is very recoil sensitive. It works. It does a little weight, but it reduces recoil very well. Makes it feel like more of a shove on your shoulder rather than a sharp kick or thump. I haven't had any issues with it bumping my cheek. And as long as you look straight down the barrel it will shoot straight.
