I just got back from my Scimitar Oryx hunt in Rocksprings, Texas.
I shot this bull tuesday morning at about 100 yards with my
35 Whelen. 225 grain Partition at 2700 MV. You can see the exit
wound in this pic. Knocked him down at the hit, he got up and went
about 3-4 steps and piled up. Amazing creatures. And very tasty !

They taste superb. The flavor of the meat is
milder than whitetail. The liver is excellent
as well. Also very mild.

Of all the wild game I've had so far, I would
rate this Oryx at the top.

If you don't mind my asking, how much $$$ would I have to lay out for a hunt like this?

Oryx, eh? Interesting. The one exotic I wanna hunt when I can financially swing it is a Nilgai. They have 'em free ranging down on the Kennedy and the King and I think they're in that price range for a hunt, maybe a tad more. I know I can't afford it right now, but in 6 years I wll. :D I'm not sure how Nilgai compares in meat quality, but they're pretty BIG, I know that. LOL I'll probably have to buy another freezer for the hunt. :D
