Scope Decision: Vortex, Nikon, Burris...

The 30mm tube goes a long way as far as brightness, compared to a similar scope with a 1" tube, and the etched reticles are amazing:
Tube diameter has no bearing on light transfer; optics and coating quality are what determine light transfer. The 30mm tube allows for a large adjustment range.

You op said $350
3rd generation has them. I bought another one lastnight.
$374.99 I believe

Thanks for the heads up, I was looking for a good scope under $500 to put on a new Savage 12 BCTSS in .223 that's on the way and this was a no brainer!

I bought the last one they had, even called to confirm before I hit the "submit" key on the order.

I'm glad you got it before I took all three they had the other day. I only got 2 this time around. I have that scope on 7 or 8 rifles and enjoy them all. Great scopes.

Well, I went for the Buckmasters for instant gratification and the 'fun factor' of having target turrets and side focus. As long as the turrets are repeatable, I think I will be happy for what I will be doing. I was playing around with the Spot On program a bit and it looks like it will be fun to play around with that and the BDC. Watch out distant milk jugs!! I can't wait to sight it in, probably New Years Day. Thanks to everyone for your comments, even though I ignored most of you and didnt spring for the Vortex.
