Hello; I am new here.

I recently picked up a BSA Martini Cadet in .22 K Hornet. While I would like something like an old Unertl, Fecker or Lymon scope. I think they just look right on this type of older rifle. They aare just way too expensive. While one doesn't really need great magnification for distances around 250 yards at max, I would like to get something variable up to 14-16X. I will be using it for target, varmints and small game. Like to zoom in for clean head shots. What would anyones recommendation be for a scope, preferably under the $400 range. For these short distances I don't know if there is any advantage between ffp and sfp glass.. Thanks

is yours set up with Target Blocks ? I have a Lyman Super Target spot 10x I could sell for $400 , I have a 10x Unertl Ultra Varmint 2" for $500 but it is pretty large for a Martini Cadet format

Cool stuff. I remember (not all that long ago?) when Feckers were not silly priced.
There was a low wall recently that had a 6.5-20X Leupold on it......looked good.
Maybe an old Weaver T series would be tolerable.
But for the posr before.........think the right stuff at good price has been offered.

Hello Gordon;

I have the unertl blocks on the rifle at the moment, only problem right now is the money, all that after Chrismas stuff. I'm thinking a modern variable might be more practical for target,varmint, etc, at from 50-200+ yards. I'll keeep what you have in mind and when I get the money write to see if you still have them. They are a great price. Thanks
