I don't know what power of scope to buy for this rifle. I do targeting and no hunting at all, I will be shooting at target from 200 yard to 300. I havn't owned a large caliber rifle before.

Please help:banghead:

I had a Nikon Monarch 3x9x40 on my BAR 7 Rem. Mag. in Wisconsin. It was more than enough for the distances I had to cover. Out here in South Dakota, I switched to a Nikon Monarch 5.5x16.5x44. It is way more than enough scope. The Nikons have very good image resolution and have worked well for me in all weather and light conditions. I guess that eventually, I will install a 4x14x50 and see how that works. Hope this helps. Good Luck, NailGun

I would go for a Leupold 3 x 9 x 40 Rifleman. Relatively inexpensive for the excellent quality (@$180-260 for the wider lense models), very versatile, can be used for the longer shots if you need them, and a full-tilt lifetime warranty.

Good stuff,
Mark(psycho)Phipps( HAHAHA! )
