I've completed my build on a Palmetto State Armories AR 10, and am shooting it with a red dot for now. I am 51 years young now and my near vision has diminished from the 20/15 days of my largely-misspent youth, so Irons aren't going to give me the kinds of results that I could use to develop a real load with.
In short, I need magnified optics.
I wanted something that wasnt the equivalent of mounting a fully-loaded 1911 + 3 mags on my upper rail. Who makes nice, light 6+ X optics these days?
Budget = $400 + maybe $80 for a mount.
I considered illuminated stuff, but anything with a battery and a switch starts topping 22+ oz. I am pretty sure Leupold makes some lighter scopes, but don't you need like $1300+ to get a really good one?
