Talk about paralysis by analysis! Guys, I know " quality" scopes can run as much as you want to or can pay! Criteria ( kind of ! ):
FFP
MOA reticle
Parallax adjustment
Can take 6.5 Creed or .308 recoil

Just want to be able to have the capability to bang steel out to 1,000 yards, no competition ( except with myself, maybe ! ).
Any suggestions for anything in that price range that can do a decent job greatly appreciated!

So far, I have been pretty happy with my Vortexx viper. PST2. That should pretty easily be found in that price range I believe. I got mine on a sale for $650. are there better options? Probably.

Great time of year to buy scopes, sales, closeouts etc.

If you can go Mils, this Forge is a good deal. My nephew has one and it's very nice.

Shop around.

Zero stop is nice for and almost a necessity for competition, but not critical playing at the range.

High power is nice, but also less clear on some scopes, and all scopes to some degree as it magnifies poor conditions as well.
Obviously better glass helps, but isn't critical for range play. That's why now is a good time to buy, get better glass on sale.

You don't have to have FFP for playing at the range, especially if you are going to sit and shoot at one distance, but I like to.

An example of what sales can save you at this time of the year. Mils again though.

This MOA Strike Eagle is a nice scope, my buddy shoots a mil version in NRL-22 matches.

Burris XTR II 5-25.....MOA

The Viper PST Gen2 is a fantastic scope in that price range. They can usually be had for around 800 bucks and occasionally are on sale for under 700.

The Burris XTR-ii can now be bought at a good discount (around 500 bucks) since the XTR-iii came out. I did not think the glass quality was as good as the PST Gen2, but they have been used to win some big competitions. So maybe my friend's model isnt representative of the product.

FFP was mentioned but FWIW, Europtics has Athlon Argos Gen II BTR 10-40X56mm SFP MOA for $367 with free shipping - https://www.eurooptic.com/Athlon-Argos-BTR-10-40X56mm-DD-SF-30mm-BLR-SFP-MOA-Riflescope-214071.aspx

Here you go. I love mine.

These are just my recommendations based on what ive used, some scopes id bet are excellent options are being left of simply because i havent used them.

3-400 Arken Ep4L or Sh4 (J model should be worth the extra cost) 6-24
5-600 Athlon Ares BTR G2 4.5-27 or Riton Conquer 5-25

More than that and i bow out, all of my more expensive scopes are sfp.

Here you go. I love mine.

Going to need some custom mounts to get that guy on a rifle ....... 😜
