Hey there guys I am looking to outfit my new Tikka for a scope but am torn between which. After reading all your previous posts/replies I still am stuck. Leupold is an American company and like that fact so VX-I for the price or the VX-II. I was wanting a 4-12x40 with the LR Plex for the little extra zoom because I am able to shoot 600+ yards where we shoot regularly but usually will be 300 and under. Or the the other option is a Nikon Buckmaster in the 4.5-14x40 in either the Mil-Dot or BDC? I appreciate and respect all your honesty and opinions but decided between the two companies. I have a Nikon Omega on as u guessed my omega and its great but first rifle purchase so wanna make sure its a perfect fit. Thanks Again for any help!! :)

I have 5 Buckmasters and love everyone of them. Great scopes. Would buy another Nikon before a VX I or II.

I'd go with the Buckmaster over the VX-I.

I'd go with the VX-1, VX-II, or VX-2 over the Buckmaster.

take a look at redfield they are made by leupold. I just put one on my x bolt and love it

I am still not hearing why to choose one over the others. Please someone explain why to choose one over another besides I have one. I have five drills and use them all but can tell you why I chose my favorite everyday. Please help me, this is my first rifle and not used to any purchase of this caliber rifle.

You asked for opinions.
I have experience with Nikon and Leupold optics. I gave you my opinion.
Do your own research.

Thanks Haxby I appreciate the opinion and you say you have experience, then be the counter guy that has used them and tell me why. Trust me I have researched this and so many others things till I'm sick. Im very familiar with tools and know price doesnt make something better or brand doesnt make it more reliable. If the best I get from a guys blog is "I like it" I might as well learn to do a flying chest bump cause people "like it."
