Scope Help Requested...

Anybody put a Leupold 3-9x40 VX-II on a long action (.30-06) Winchester 70?

If so, what kind of mounts did you use? I've tried some Talley Lightweights, but they simply do not allow the scope to mount far enough back for proper eye relief.

What mounts would let me get the scope further back toward the eye?

20 years ago when I mounted a Redfield 4x12x40 on my .30-06 M70 using a 2 piece low profile Redfield base I did not have any issues.

Try Leupold with the reversible front. I have them on my long actions and seem to do the trick.

Thanks travis301. I wondered what "RVF" meant when I used the Leupold Mount Selector online. Those were one of the options, and I'm glad to see they come in dual dovetail.
