i've read that if you have a cz 527 it's hard to mount a scope low because of the bolt lift. along with that, since its a mini-mauser action, i also read that it's hard to move the scope around because of how close the rings are together. does anybody find this restricting to them, or is it something that i shouldn't even worry about?

This is most definetly a problem, some I talk to go with extra high rings. On the 527 that I had an older model weaver scope with the tv screen eyepiece took care of the problem. I originally had a nikon buckmaster on their and the bolt did rub rather badly.

As long as you use at least a medium ring you'll be OK. I recommend the BURRIS rings. As for the front to rear placement I haven't really found it to be an issue.

now I have a varmint/hipower scope, plust these are the factory high cz rings.
The bolt handle wraps around pretty close to the scope housing.
with a very short scope, I could see it going behind the eyepiece, but this would have to be a very short scope. your best bet would be a rail bridge, if you have a more normal size scope.

I mounted a 3-12 Sightron on my CZ527 Kevlar using the CZ rings that came with it and have had no problems.

I have heard of some bolts binding, but I just use my thumb to push the bolt about 90% of the way and then finish in the regular mannor.

Use medium or high rings made for the 527 (CZ, Leupold, Burris, Millet) and you'll have no problem with the scope. A 1/2" cheek pad on the stock will solve the cheek weld problem.

My calling rifle is a 527 in .223. I believe I used Burris medium rings to mount the Weaver K-4. No problems at all. A very nice rifle. Essex

Check out Eric Brooks web page: http://www.cz452.com/

He's got just about everything you need for the CZ's. His trigger kit is about one of the best $15 I have ever spent on a gun.

Be sure to check out the BKL mounts and rings - plenty of options to address your needs and concerns and the BKL stuff is top notch, it's what I used on mine.
