Hey everyone,

Newbie to writing on this forum but I really appreciate all the knowledge that is passed on from veterans to newbies like me. I really have learned a lot as a new rifle owner. I recently bought my 2nd CZ rifle, the CZ 527 .223 Varmint, along with Warne medium height quick disconnect rings, to mount a Nikon Bushmaster 4.5-14X40 BDC scope. I also had a clearance issue with the bolt and the scope and called CZ USA. I told them the issue I was having and asked about the minimum height for the rings, as I was going to return what I had and order the Warne high rings. The guy I spoke with said to hold on to the rings I had and to send in the bolt assembly and they would modify it for free to fit most scope mounts. Talk about great customer service! Just wanted to pass this information along as I have read in other posts about guys sending the bolt assembly out and paying for the service.

Very good. I recontoured my bolt and had a gunsmith reblue it. Altogether $20. If CZ USA will do it for free, that is great.

There is a lot of meat in the bolt shank so it should not be weakened. Something I would also do is to drill and tap the end of the bolt knob and put in a 8mm allen bolt to give a bit of an extension for my finger to grab onto before having it reblued. The shank of the threaded part is about 1/4 inch, and the "knob" end of the hex bolt fits flush to the bolt knob. It may look a bit dorky, but it really does help functionality.

That is awesome. If you would, please post a photo when you get it back. I'm curious to see how it turns out.
