My dog grabs delivery packages. Including a scope I had ordered. Found her tearing into the outer shipping carton. Hope thing is all right. Anything that I should pay attention to that would indicate damage? Haven’t mounted it yet.

Id check her teeth and gums but dogs are pretty resilient. ;)

Barring any signs of physical damage to the scope; gouges, scratches, dings, I doubt there’s anything to worry about. I know about dogs that like to chew and how quickly an Indestructi-ball can be reduced to pieces (under 1 minute for a wolfhound) so hopefully all’s well.

Lucky for me she only chews toys.

Fortunately, she has an ultra-soft mouth. She's my best bird dog and has yet to damage any kind of fowl. Anyway, she's just dragged the box from the driveway out to the lawn, tore open the plastic bag, and chewed the cardboard box. The scope was inside a bubble type pack. I'm sure it's ok. I'm just a worrier by nature.

My Dobermans can destroy pretty much anything if I let them chew on it. Toys described as “indestructible” last a few minutes if they’re lucky. My Dremel case after I foolishly left it under the Christmas Tree.....corner destroyed before I realized what one of them was chewing on. My old girl (in my avatar) could reduce a ham bone you buy for dogs to nothing in 15 minutes or so.

As mentioned, if it was only the packaging, you’ll be fine or the scope is a POS that you are better off not using.

Nice looking wolfhound!

Our Rotties can destroy pretty much anything you give them. Our pup got ahold of an M1 Carbine mag pouch with two unloaded mags in it and within a couple of minutes, had destroyed both the pouch and the mags. Hes already cracked his SS dinner bowl.

We rate most toys life at about a dollar a minute. A $15 toy is good for about 15 minutes, and usually a bit less. Kong toys last the longest, but not all that long, and they are about as tough as they get.

Since a scope isnt a dog-specific built toy, I wouldnt give it much hope, no matter the cost. :)
