I just finished building my first AR and being a flat top I picked up some nice BUIS. I also started thinking about a scope. I want something that I can use on the M14 that I have as well. I know that they are not the same calibers so does that basically mean I have to get two separate ones? If thats the case, it will be an Eotech AR223 or clone for the AR and Trijicon ACOG 3x30 in 308 for the m14.

Thats a lot of money for some optics... I was really hoping to get away with one but being that the rifles serve two totally different purposes there might not be a way.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!
V.

If you can afford an M14, you should be able to afford 2 scopes! (Same goes for an M1A at the recent prices);)

Changing out between guns means you have to re-zero every time; thats a lot of time, effort and ammo - you'd be better off getting two optics - perhaps a holo-sight for close-in on one gun, and a scope for far-off on the other.

There are some decent red-dot sights under 100, while you recharge your funds for an upgrade.

Since you're considering an Trijicon ACOG for your M14, you might want to consider a Trijicon RMR for your AR. RMR stands for "Ruggedized Miniature Reflex." It does not require batteries and uses fiber optic and tritium like the ACOG.

For the same price as one ACOG, you could buy two RMR sights. The RMR costs about $400.

Trijicon is currently my favorite optic company :D
