Scoping Remington Model 41

Hi Guys,
Did anyone ever mount a scope on a Remington Model 41 single shot bolt action. Upcoming visiting relative is in need. My concern is bolt clearance as Weaver bases seem to be available. Drill and tap is not a problem but a bolt alteration is out.

Yes, yes I have. Tried many things, but the final and best solution was to take the aluminum base Brownells sells, cut two chunks out of it to make two bases, and drill and tap them in place, (1" rings and Weaver K-3 on top). No problem with the bolt clearance...

If bolt clearance seems to be a problem, higher rings might solve it?
