Both are built on the "E" frame, but I dont know if any of the guts are interchangeable. I will say this one is smooooooooooth, probably nicer than the last vintage Python I shot, and noticeably better than the Trooper (which is certainly not bad to begin with). Many of the E-frame Trooper internal parts are interchangeable with the Python, but lack the same level of polishing.

I was actually getting ready to buy one from a dealer on armslist when they locked me (and everyone else) out.

Thats ok, this one was about $200 cheaper, with no shipping to boot!

IMHO that is the best Vintage of those. I had my dad's matched set he aquired in the early to mid 50s the last of which was his "cheat" .32S&W Long one ! He stopped using the first .38 special one he had after he started using the .32 in CF matches he was an NRA competitor in . I got that one first . I sold the .32 one about 10 years ago for $2500 , very rare it turned out ! I insistened selling the .38 and the .22 as a pair. Dad had them tuned and weighted identical by our neighbor Austin Behlert in NJ in late 1950s :) I messed with them from 70s thru 2017 :) , longer than he had them , but he used them more, they were in perfect shape.Maybe I can dig up a picture. The two on the Left :)

Droolworthy collection!

Yes the 32 CNP (SW Long) Target models fetch the highest premium. My 32 CNP is a lowly PPS. Still purdy though!
