Hi guys,
I'm in the process of building(w/help of a gunsmith) a 1917 Enfield (rem) in .338-06. The barrel was turned down from a blank and is on the action. Now is the time to order the scout mount. Surfing the web , I've found 2 makers. The one from Ashley and the Beast entreprises Ching ring. Any of you used either one? Are there any other makers out there?

Thanks

Either of those two mounts would quickly make your custom Enfield look cheesy.

Have your gunsmith mill two custom scope bases and screw and soft silver solder them to the barrel.

Option two: A quarter rib that can accept Weaver Style QD's with a fold down rear iron sight- my personal favorite.

Option three: Sometimes the scope base from a Ruger No.1 can be used ahead of the action.

Option four: Screw the scout mount all together and get some classy iron sights from NECG...

Thanks for the options, The action is unaltered so the battle peep sights will stay. I may replace the front dovetailed sight with a white dot or glow in the dark pistol sight.
Where can I get a Ruger quarter rib?,... Brownells?? I'll run it by the gunsmith and see what he thinks. Since the barrel was turned down by a novis(me) it is no where near a standard contour which will make this project all the more difficult. Whatever I end up with, I'm sure there will be a considerable ammount of acraglass with steel fillings mixed in :D
Thanks
