Scout Scope for Mauser - NC Star

I'm looking for a Scout Scope mount and Scope for my M48. I see that a few companies make a mount that replaces the rear site, but I'm not sure which to select.

Anyone use the NC Star kit found on ebay? It has a long eye relief and comes with the base and rings. Any other suggestions?

Not many long eye relieft scopes out there, and I'm not convinced a handgun scope with ler should be used on such a powerful rifle.

Leupold makes a scout scope with various reticles. About $250 retail, search ebay and maybe get a bargain.

Don't use pistol mounts for rifles, you may end up needing an eyepatch to cover the hole in your face when the pistolgear recoils into your head.

The best mount on the market is Darrel's scout mount. do a Google search and it will show up.

When I scouted my Remington 600 Mohawk, I initially used a Burris HG scope. (Sorry, I don't recall which one now.) It had too much eye relief! My problem was solved by purchasing Burris' Scout scope. Man, I love this setup.

A yew years ago I built a scouted M48 using a B-square mount and a Ncstar scope.

The mount was great. the scope wouldn't even make a good paperweight....Save your money up for a better scope.

BY THE WAY, LOVE THE REMMY MOHAWK! there is a dude here in houston , that has one in 6mm with the full vent rib.... mmmm ribs.

I recently mounted one on a 91-30. I seldom dip this low, but a friend has had good luck with his so I thought I'd take a chance. I haven't shot it yet and I don't have high expectations. When the snowbanks melt we'll find out. Essex

I used the S&K Mauser scout mount- it's rock-solid and better lookin' than some.

My only experience with NC-star: Very poor quality to the point of unuseable.
