Probably a long, long, time.
I can think of more comfortable grips to put on your old colt, Just about any grips are more comfortable the saw handle grips in my opinion.
To keep the web of my hand under that saw handle protrusion forces the gun to shoot low in my hands. If someone had small hands they may like them.

Lookin good thanks to Numrich and Ebay-

Ive had no luck finding Magnum brass at the range, but my buddy loaned me his .22mag. derringer and I found a box of the jacketed CCI WRF stuff. Im going to shoot 12 of those, then drill them out to make LR adapters. Winning!

I still need a rear sight set screw.....if anybody has one or knows what thread these are supposed to be, Id appreciate it, thanks!

I have no idea about the original screw specifications, but my local Ace Hardware keeps a box of "gun screws" in the nuts and bolts section of the store. It's a longshot, just like the rest of your project, but if you have an Ace Hardware store nearby, you might get lucky. If you are not concerned with absolute historic rehabilitation, you could retap the hole to fit an available screw.

Well done on the save!

My guess on the screw is since its an American gun it will be a standard screw diameter. No metric stuff. And either a 6-40 or maybe a 6-48 or a 4-40 or 4-48. It was probably just a section of threaded rod with a slot cut in it for a small screwdriver. Thats my best guess anyway.
