Just a heads up....I was at Midwest Guns in Mishawaka, IN yesterday. They are selling M&P Shields for $399. Had at least one .40 in the show case, and are taking back orders on others. They are a jobber to other dealers, so they get a continuous supply

$380 locally here

Locally the shields are selling for $380 new. Ofcourse we have 10% tax so out the door you are looking at just under $420

Sounds like they've gone down in price. I bought one in 2012 for under $400 and they jumped significantly, if you could find one, during 2013.

I got one about 6 months ago. Had been on a waiting list at least that long. Paid $439ish IIRC and was happy to get it at that. Son of one of my friends got one about a month ago, and paid over $600.

What a difference a few months makes I guess. Look at AR's. Super cheap now.

They wholesale from around $340 normally so maybe a few jobbers/wholesalers got a good deal on them from S&W and are passing the savings onto the dealers. Maybe they the fixed recalled models?

One LGS has them here for $380 otd. Another was running a pre Christmas special for $371 otd.

It seems like the Shield went from unobtanium to ubiquitous overnight. Today I saw a used one for $400 at Scheel's. In my mind that seemed like a good price since it's the first one I've ever seen in real life, but I guess that's kind of high.

Imagine how much we all paid last year for these guns. They were getting 5-550 everyware, some made a killing. The gun store can't tell me they only made 5% on that one.

I don't see how they honestly could have maintained their high price. Granted I love my (full sized) M&P, but its a hard recommendation to make when the Ruger LC9, Kahr CW9, and Bersa BP9CC are all in the $350-ish range. Under $400 they can compete a lot better.

Paid 389 for mine two months ago....really happy with this pistol so far. Invested in two more mags. 3-400 trouble free rounds so far, 3 different types of HP (and +p) and 4 different types of cheapo walturd fmj's
