SD Ammo for Kel-Tec P3AT .380

The .380ACP is generally believed to be the starting, or bottom, point of SD handgun calibers, so getting and using the best cartridge for this caliber is very important. FMJ loads are favored by some in the .380, but two good hollow points to consider are CorBon's DPX and their JHP 90gr load in this caliber.
 
I tested and carried the new Hornady Critical Defense FTX 90 gr. They expand every time with at least 8+" penetration. Staggered loading is good too. Other preferred load is Federal Hydra-shock 90 gr
 
I don't know if they're the best, but I use 102 gr. Golden Sabers for most of my .380 defense needs. They feed well in my Kel-Tec and seem to be pretty effective based on my own testing. I've had feeding issues with flat tipped FMJ .380 in certain guns, so make sure to test them for reliability.
