I really love this SD40. Picked it up this morning. The slide to frame connection rattles like a can of marbles but an awesome gun nonetheless. Went to the range today, I had results that made me smile, and I'm a horrible shot with a pistol! Haven't been in the pistol game for long, and with my other (Bersa Thunder .380) I'm terrible! With the SD, I was making head and centermass shots (no groups to post pics and brag about though). I just need more practice and will get much better. The M&P Trijicon sights are awesome. Not a single FTF or FTE. The 180gr JHP's are great, and the recoil is easier than with the 165gr FMJ Blazers, but those have some screaming velocity on them.

I have the SD 40 and I love it , the only problem I have seen is it shoots low and to the left , fortunately unlike similiar guns it comes with adjustable sights , I had to move the rear sight all tghe way to the right and then adjust from the point to get the right spot , other than that it shoots great , having shot the .45acp for years (over 10,000 rounds) I hardly noticed the recoil, but I guess if you've been shooting 9's you might feel it , this gun is a winner , shot 250 rounds the first day including about 100 hollowpoints and shot flawless ,never jammed . I have heard some people say it rattles , mine doesnt and the breakdown is simple which is really sweet ! There really arent many removable parts and the gun is super lightwieght (until you add 14 rounds,1 in the chamber) and it shoots without the magazine as well , no silly safeties either!
Sits by my nightstand , I love this gun, it would make a fine duty carry for small departments as well .
I am really pleased with the sd 40 it has a really good feel to it , doesnt have the boxy feel of the glock more well rounded like the MP! AND its very consealable!

what did you pay for it...seems like you could probably get a full on M&P40 lightly used for what this disguised sigma goes for?

You could get an M&P for close to the price of an SD but aside from the M&P 45C which is obviously a 45, they are not the same size. The SD falls in between the FS and C 9's and 40's. 4" tube and 14+1. The angle of the mag allows for better carry than the FS M&P 40, it's like the Glock 23 compared to the Glock 22. I have M&P 40 and 45 FS and 40 and 45 C's. The SD40 is almost exactly the size of the M&P 45C which is my personal favorite of the line. They can use the same fitted holsters perfectly.

Two things I don't like about the SD and both come down to the trigger. 1) a heavy, long pull (not too bad, tolerable with use) 2) a very long reset (untolerable, all the way back up for what equates to IMO, a long, heavy DA trigger).

The gun carry's like a champ! It is thinner than M&P's and Glocks. It's a good looking gun, again - IMO. Like my Glock 23 which is 13+1, I carry the SD -1 for a total of 13+1. Just gives me piece of mind and extended mag spring life. If I have a FTF on the first shot I don't want it hard to rack out the round in the chamber because of pressure from the mag. I do carry my FS M&P 40, Glock 22 and both M&P 45's with full mags +1. 14 rounds is not hard to get in the SD mag, easier than a new 23 mag. Just personal preference from my experience.

no, that's you jerking the trigger. I do the same thing about 50% of the time.

they give you adjustable sights so instead of complaining to them and sending the gun back, you set the sights all the way to one side and think it magically fixed the problem...

I've sold more M&P 45C's than guys at the gun shops. The other day a guy from the alarm company came to replace the AC back up battery and we got to talking guns. He went out and bought a 45C after dry firing mine a few times. They are the best carry 45 I've shot or handled. The reason why the 45GAP was invented has been solved with the M&P 45's. Same size, same capacity as the Glock 38 but thinner and in good ole' ACP!

GAP has expensive ammo written all over it! Also I am not complaining at all,if you read what I wrote it explains what I said , yes the sights are adjustable and because of the adjustment my shot has been corrected!, sending it back? never sent a gun back in my life !
