You now have no official excuse for not getting out to a match unless you are chicken.

Thursday night: IDPA at Norfolk County Rifle Range. Great group of people, fun match. www.ncrr.net

Saturday morning: Tactical shotgun out back at Norfolk County. Birdshot 7.5 or smaller only due to range restrictions. Same great folks, same website.

Sunday Morning: Our club is trying its first ever Steel Challenge.

Cut and Paste of Match e-mail:

This coming Sunday we will be having our first ever Steel Challenge Match at Blackwater Training Center. All steel, 7 stages, 5 runs at each, 5 rounds per stage (Except one 4 rounder) for a total of 170 rounds providing you do not miss. You can go to www.isishootists.com to look at the rules and stages.

The match fee will be 20 dollars for non-members, 15 for members, and if you care to shoot it again, and again, as time permits, the fees will be 15 for non-members and 10 for members for each additional course of fire. We will shoot Open, Limited, revolver, any of your Production firearms, and rimfire. There will be no shooting from concealment. This is our first time running this match, I do not know how long it will take to run everyone thru. As time permits, we hope to have people shoot a second or third time if possible. Registration is at 0830, match starts at 1000.

Due to the nature of this match, the close proximity of the steel, everyone MUST shoot minor loads. If you are shooting major, you will be asked to leave the match. Factory 45, 40, all make major and will not be allowed. For those of you who reload please chrono your rounds and make sure you are shooting rounds that are no greater than a 135-140 PF. If you do not reload, it may be best for you to bring a 9MM, and even with factory loads you will be shooting minor. If there is any doubt, I will have a chrono at the range, and if you are above 150, for reasons of safety you will be asked to leave the range. The possibility of someone getting hurt with a frag is too great to take any chances.

Everyone will be given a single page score sheet, the results will be posted on the web in 48-72 hours after the match, and it would be appreciated if everyone would register on line at www.blackwateripsc.com Click on matches and go to the bottom of the page to register.

I know this will be a fun match, hope to see you there. Those of you with mailing lists of your own, please distribute this note.

--END

Whatever excuse you've conjured up not to compete yet, it's null. Something for everyone here. Heck, you can bring a .22 pistol to the Steel Challenge. See you on the range.
