I am the proud owner of a Sears Model 31 which my dad purchased new in '59 or '60. Probably 35 years ago I made a cartridge lifter spring for this gun and after my dad passed I got it. Ordered a CLS from Numrich and now that I have the spring and have it all cleaned up. This trigger group does not appear to be from a model 31. It does not have 2 pins, instead it just has one. Anyone know if there was a variation that matches this? Or is this a trigger group from another model that was used? All of the other parts appear to match what I have been able to find on the "net". Any help locating a spring or information would be GREATLY appreciated..

Your J.C. Higgins rifle was made for Sears by the now defunct High Standard company.

As for the trigger group?
I have no idea if it is orginial or not.
But there is no possible chance a trigger group from anything else would or could work in it.

As for two pins?
I don't know what two pins you are referring too?

There are a whole bunch of pins in the trigger group on all of them.

Here is the old owners manual with the parts schematic.
See if it matches up with what yours looks like.
