Now don't get me wrong I'm not what some would call a "loyalist." I own and enjoy firearms from Marlin, Glock, Remington, Savage, Winchester, Tikka, Colt and Sako just to name a few. However Ruger is the most prominent brand I own and spread across multiple platforms. Ruger always has a firearm to fit my needs perfectly, it's like they just know.

For example I've been looking for an AR10 platform rifle and today after going over my other choices I finally decided on the Ruger SR762.

When I was looking for a piston AR-15 I went with the SR556.

My home defense handgun is the Ruger SR1911.

My concealed carry is a Ruger SR9c

My main hunting rifle is a Ruger M77 Hawkeye in 30/06, and my "bigger game" rifle is a Ruger Magnum Hunter.

When I was looking for a compact rifle, I looked no further than the Ruger Hawkeye Compact in .308.

My favorite carbine is you guessed it a Ruger 77/44

I plink with a Ruger 10/22.

My varmint rifle is a Remington, However I just purchased a Ruger Hawkeye Predator in 6.5 creedmoor that will see varmints, big game, targets. guess you could call that one my general use rifle.

Even my wife's favorite rifle is her Ruger M77 Mark II in .308. Ruger runs deep in this family and for good reason. For the most part Ruger has been the best choice for my needs and wants. Every Ruger rifle I own after some load development have been sub-moa shooters, even the 77/44 at 100 yards will produce 1.25in groups with Hornady XTP ammo if I do my part. I did have to send a .243 Hawkeye Sporter back to Ruger cause of some stock issues, but turnaround was a about 10 days and I got a flawless rifle back.

Ruger just all around had exactly what I've wanted and meet/exceeded my expectations across the board. I'm truly a fan and loyal customer and will be for years to come as long as they keep it up!
 
What, no Ruger revolvers? Where are the Blackhawks, Super Blackhawks, Redhawks, Vaqueros, Security Sixes, and GP100s?

Just saying there are fans, and then there are fanatics!

My other 45? Blackhawk

I think what you need is a nice vaquero. If you have the pocket-change, a nice SASS pair might be in your future :)

I thought a 77/44 was a rifle. Nobody I know considers 1.25" at 100 yards to be sub-moa.

True. However it's a special bread. And to be honest I view it differently than a normal rifle. So in my definition of "every" it excluded my pistol caliber carbine.

Now I deeply apologize for the such the confusion my wording caused you. Maybe now that that has been fixed you could post something constructive instead of pointing out a small mis-wording. :rolleyes:

I've never really been a revolver guy myself, more been into long guns. All the handguns I own which only 3 are out of "necessity." I've never felt the need for a revolver. I have however been eyeing the GP100/SP101 and if I ever do decide to purchase a Revolver the GP100/SP101 will be at the top of my list.

1 MOA at 100 yards = 1.047". That constructive enough for you?
 
I too am becoming a Ruger fan. 2 10/22s and a 20ga Red Label thats served me well. Looking to add a .22lr revolver in the coming months, torn between a Single Six Convertible & a SP100 in .22lr.
 
45_Auto, do you own a Ruger firearm that you throughly enjoy? Maybe a nice Super Black Hawk or maybe your favorite hunting rifle is a M77 of some variant. Would you like share your enjoyment of said firearms and comment on them? That would be constructive.


Cooldill, that is one nice wheel gun you got there, very tempting!

Marv, What was it about the SR22 you didn't like? Been thinking about getting a .22lr handgun of some sorts as I don't currently own one. I've been considering the SR22 as the reviews have been widely favorable.

I've always liked Rugers.

Currently I have an old Model Vaquero, SP101, GP100, Single-Six, 10/22 and recently picked up a P-345.

In the past I had 2 P-90s, and a 22/45.

Had extractor issues with the 22/45 but other than that they've all been trouble-free, very tough reliable guns.

Haven't bought anything new in quite a few years though. Been tempted to try the new ones but haven't yet. Shot an LC9 but wasn't real impressed, the trigger was terrible.

I love Ruger handguns and have three. But I avoid their rifles, especially their AR, as there are so many great competing rifles out there.
 
I realized that a while back when I was looking in the safe and saw that I had more Ruger brand (6) firearms than any other (2 is the highest after Ruger) brand.

And I haven't even picked up the SR1911 (and Commander) and the (hopefully soon) SR45c yet.

Oh, and I need another Vaquero since my GF won't let me take mine ("hers") out in the field and "scratch it up".

If you're looking for a Ruger .22 handgun I would recommend a Mark II. My favorite is the Model 512 with a 5 1/2" bull barrel. Great balance and feel to it and very accurate with the right ammo.
 
I own over 30 Ruger products. They make up the bulk of my collection. They make a GOOD gun. I said GOOD, not great. They require some finishing, and handwork to make them GREAT. I learned this after buying a few Sig, and S&W products. Thats the reason the others are generally 25% higher in price. I AM a self proclaimed Ruger Fanatic, but I also realize that there are better choices, but those choices are always higher priced.
 
I've had good experience with Ruger firearms; a Blackhawk, Super Blackhawk, GP100, SP101, Mini-14, and most recently a new-style LCP. Also, despite not having a written warranty, they will stand behind and service their firearms for as long as they have parts for them.
 
I will be using a pair of Ruger Old Army percussion revolvers in a cowboy action shooting match tomorrow. No other gun company had the guts or foresight to redesign a cap and ball revolver in the 20th century, and now they command a premium.

Bill Ruger was indeed an American icon. Wish we had more like him.
