It is.
There's a lot of irony in this, as the group wanting to eliminate the filibuster in order to pass more laws is the same that has been trying to defund the folks tasked with enforcing law. They've also been yelling about decriminalization and reduced sentencing.
They undoubtedly understand who the majority of people affected by firearm licensing would be, and it's hard to see it as anything but a political attack. Just hope if anything like this ever does pass we all get the same leniency in enforcement, prosecution, and sentencing that the same people have been demanding for their constituents.
