I am tired of all the stress and panic. Let's talk about something good instead.

I just bought a used 10/22 last week. It's an older one with he aluminum trigger guard and barrel band. The rifle is kind of rough but I am looking forward to building it into something and learning some more about them. Not my first 10/22 and it won't be my last. I paid $150 for it and it came with a factory ten round magazine, an Eagle 30 round magazine, and a really decent condition Bushnell 3x9 scope.

I also just got confirmation from Midway that my backordered Choate 10/22 folder has been shipped.

Share your good news. We all could use a little cheering up!

I bought a Savage mdl 10 fcp and finally the scope base came in. I have one more screw to shorten and I can put a scope on. Then I'll hike though the snow to try it out this weekend.

Just got a new 20 inch barrel with rifle sights and extended tube for my Mossberg 500 today from Brownell's. It's been on back order for a month and a half. Today it just showed up out of the blue, so it was a nice surprise. Got it put on with almost no trouble at all. Now I just need to take it to the range and test it out.

I just put a Kahr CW9 on layaway.. as i already have 4 pistols and no rush,,

I didn't buy anything, because going to Wal mart or a local gun shop right now is depressing. So I went out back to my private range and proceeded to send lots of 22 towards paper and steel.

One of regret sales (38 SPL) went on sale at Cabelas (Rossi, 2" model) for $250 during the madness, and nothing else I needed was available so I scored another regret buyback.

Also, for the first time schedule some actual rifle time with an army marskmen when I go out to WI so I can get some rifle pointers.

I have 2.5 AR's and about 20 magazines. Means little most of the time but feels pretty good right now.

Recently bought a Sig 229R (over Christmas) . I got it off Gunbroker from Northern Firearms. Great outfit! The transaction was almost effortless with no snags. They don't charge for CCs.

This was my first Sig Pistol and it wont be my last! Great shooter!

I messed up the receiver when building an AK, but since I live in NY, I don't have to go to the trouble of fixing it :)

Sorry, that's not very good news is it? :(

I feel good in knowing I've purchased enough over the past 10-20 years to know that I don't need to buy a damned thing during the panic.

That's my good news.

Right before the latest panic a good friend of mine bought his first firearm, an M&P 9mm. He is enjoying shooting at the range and has turned range time into a family affair. He has taken his wife shooting and is also takes his kids to the range individually for father/child bonding.

Got a good price on a replica 1842 musket, no paperwork required. Dixie has them for sale still I think.

In light of Alaska's location in the supply chain I'm not counting on getting the popular cartridge supplies back in the stores until August or September, so I'm switching over to more black powder stuff and obscure rounds. I also took the opportunity to build a new reloading station and work bench.

Made My deciscion on My first Semi-Automatic Handgun ,and Made it over the main Hurdle as far as Funding for the Project,Lol,My wife and I have had a pact the 40 years we been married that we do not make a major purhchase over a $125 unless We discuss it with each other,It seems everytime I talk to her and describe anything about firearms she doesn't want to be Bored. nor cares about that gun love thing we all possess, she always looks at me and says ,I do not care about Guns ,do what ever ya want..I'm busy...YESSSSSSSSSS !!! Works everytime...New Bursa Firestorm You'll soon becoming home to Daddy ,I Love You...

I ordered some 5.56 from Midway on Tuesday and it arrived today. That should last me for a while.

Virginia continues to beat down anti-gun laws on a state level.

While our state legislature has been kind of quiet, several Missouri Sherriffs have said not only "No!" to enforcing any notional renewed AWB, but several have resoundingly said "He!! No!"

In other news, I picked up yet another NIB Walther P99AS, in 9mm, for $530 all-in.

Didn't really need it, but it's almost a reflex now that when I see a very good gun going cheap, I want to buy it.

....must....resist....temptation!

Tomorrow I pick up a new Savage Axis .223
Been wanting a bolt .223 for ages, finally found a store with one in stock. They just dont sit on shelves long even pre-panic

I do have some ban news related.
years ago I was given several hundred rounds of the yellow box Norinco .223 ammo, before the ban. I shot a mess of them but still had several boxes stored in a military ammo can.
last week I dug that ammo can out from the black hole (aka my closet) to get to the ammo. Unfortunately over the years the brass got corroded :( I also noticed that the rounds that didn't have the green growth had dents in the casings?
Guess I'll pull the bullets to re-use and recycle the brass.

I just picked up my Weatherby Vanguard 2, 308 varmint. Haven't shot it yet. Maybe Sunday. Didn't buy it in panic mode, was going to buy one around Thanksgiving, but the better half wanted me to wait until after Christmas. We all know what happened during that time...

Will wring it out and maybe do a review....

This morning, my four-year old daughter asked me to show her how to shoot a gun. She has always seen one on my hip, and some "non-guns" on display in my den (replica 1911 and an 1851 Navy .36 revolver.) She asked me if "there's a button you push and the fire comes out"..

We were headed out the door for preschool; I told her I will show her how they work soon, but that we have to go to a special "safe place" to actually shoot them.

Two 50rd boxes of Tula .45 and two 100rd boxes of WWB from Wally World this week. There's not much ammo out there, but a little shows up every once in a while. Oh, and Obama got his hand slapped...that's good news too, right?

A federal appeals court ruled Friday that President Barack Obama violated the Constitution in filling labor board vacancies, a decision that could reshape a long-standing practice by U.S. presidents to make recess appointments.

My MOTHER told me she would go to the range with me!

I am getting a GP100 in about one weeks time.

A guy at my work has an old reloading manual, brass (in .357, .38 and 9mm) a non digitial scale, and even some old powder.

Since I am going to be starting reloading, how long can you keep powder? He said his is maybe 15 years old.

After an especially upsetting news broadcast tonight, that involved 5 home invasion intruders (same house), my wife asked me for my XD-S to keep on her night stand. She has gone to the range with me and shot it, but she is anything but comfortable with it, and I promised to let her rent a .38 bodyguard to see if she may tolerate that. We are both past middle age, we both snore pathetically, and sometimes we have to excuse ourselves to other quarters in the house for some sleep. Yes, that is a secret that only old folks may divulge.

Anyway, that leaves me with the semi-auto, which is OK by me, since I feel more comfortable with it, should multiple BGs erroneously decide to come calling for hot chocolate and doughnuts.

We did have a potential multi-intruder incident a month or so ago that was thwarted by my wife, when she slammed the door on a lady who rang, and wanted to clean our carpets for free, market survey, blah-blah and her crew could start immediately. All I had was my sidearm, and the semi-auto was in its case with no magazine. They were in one of the safes. Will never make that mistake again. We got lucky, but motion floods, front door peep and intercom are on the shopping list. Stay safe. Evil is everywhere.

Oh, the good news! We now have two rooms protected instead of one!
