Trigger therapy time at my favorite indoor gunstore range (Cherokee Firearms in Springfield, MO) this afternoon. I fine tuned the sights on my 4” S&W Highway Patrolman while a 30-something young man perforated paper with his suppressed AR .223 a few lanes away. We pulled our targets in at the same time.

I told him I enjoyed watching him shoot without hearing much noise! He made nice comments about my groups. I asked him if he shot revolvers. Not so much.

I loaded 6 into the Model 28-2, reassuring him they were mild .38 Special target loads, and put some paper at 7 yards. He shot a decent group and grinned when he put the revolver down. I handed the target to him and told him to show his wife that he needs a Smith and Wesson. He grinned wider and folded the target and put it in his range bag.

Converting youngsters to classic firearms, one at a time.

I’d take that Model 28 over any of the new plastic fantastical made today.

Six for sure with far greater reliability, not to mention the stopping power of a .357 magnum load. Much better gun than anything around today.
