An interesting article that touches on identity theft, forged ID, and the criminal justice system.

The punishment for identity theft should be comparable to that for rape or kidnapping.

    At least 20 years :fire:

    wow...

"She had bad teeth and looked like she hadn't bathed," the onetime standup comic recalled recently. "I thought, 'You're buying Prada on my dime. Go get your teeth fixed.' "

Some peoples' kids... i'm sorry but they said she just got probation. probation. she was ON probation when she stole her identity... wow...

If you shoot somebody that is using your identity, would that legally be suicide?

More of that 'catch and release' justice at work.

If you shoot someone that has stolen your identity, that would be virtual suicide.

Well, the judge obviously wasn't concerned enough to hand down a real sentence... why shouldn't she be smirking and waving? I would be, too, if I could steal someone's identity while on probation, and just get sentenced to more probation.

If Judge Kahn wants to know what's wrong with the judicial system, s/he has only to look in the mirror.

Probably, but they'd charge you with killing the person anyway.

So, you'd have to make the case that the person was legally recognized as you and have him named as you in the charges.

And then you can prove you're not dead, so they'd have to find you innocent. :D
