We made the first trip to the range with it today. She's got a little getting used to the DAO trigger, but it'll be good.

There's just one thing... There's only one way she's gonna carry it, and that's in her purse. No other way, don't even try.

I tried to slip it in my Uncle Mike's pocket holster for my 642 and then slip it into the purse, but - when I showed her how to draw the pistol, the holster came with it. Not enough grip on the outside of the holster like there would be inside of a pants pocket. (She said, "So do I have to take the holster off first before I can shoot?")

What's a good holster to use for this purpose? Have any manufacturers started making holsters for the Bodyguard .380 and it's oversized snout end with the integrated laser in it?

I'm looking at the DeSantis Nemesis "Cargo Pant" holster, the one that also holds a separate magazine, but again - I don't know if they've started making one for the Bodyguard. I know they make it for the Kel-Tec and the Ruger clone and Taurus. Gonna call them in the AM.

I don't think a IWB-type holster clipped inside the purse is gonna work because that would present the pistol up too high in the purse, and in sight of "casual observers", if you know what I mean.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Dedicated gun purse instead of something that leaves the firearm in just any orientation buried under everything else.

Get a piece of plastic and attach a holster to it. Size the plastic so that it fits in the purse without shifting it's relative position. Bigger purse, bigger piece of plastic. Size it so it stays in the purse when she draws it.

OR

Get a gun purse with a compartment for the gun.

Or install some velcro on the holster and inside the purse (preferably around the holster and to the purse if you get what I mean). If you do that an uncle mike's #2 in pocket should be fine.

Galco makes a ton of Handbag Holsters which are very high quality. She might like one or more of them, have her take a look... At the bottom of the list check off "Women's Handbags for Concealed Carry" and then do the search.
