Shell holder on stock or sling?

I prefer a full mag tube and loose shells right next to it. I can grab buck, slugs, or shot as needed cause i dont like the way it adds to the clunky factor and changes the handling dynamics. drop em in the right front pocket. It's more likely a raccoon raiding the bird feeders or a coyote causing mischief than armed attackers anyway.

Wow! Some good points. That stock with the shell stuck in the side - does it hold multiple shells in the butt or just one shell?

Don`t know what type of a shotgun you have but if it`s semi-auto or pump and if the full tube (5-6 shells) isn`t enough, then you`ll need more than what you have in mind.

My point exactly.

If 3 or 6 in the gun, plus at max 5 on the buttstock isn't enough- what exactly are you preparing for ?

I have a bandolier, thanks. Holds 25 rounds. I use it when going in the field for duck and goose, and I wear it belt style. I rarely ever use all of it on a standard field day- heck, rarely 1/5th of it... and thats on a day I PLAN to go shoot things, and have things to shoot at.

If you can't get it done with whats in the gun, and whats on the rack- you need to train more. Its a shotgun for gosh sakes. This is your house- not a 150 yard field game.

Tony : While I agree with you, why do you have a left handed setup on what appears to be a right hand ejecting rig ? Is that just a bad photo, or ... do you not mind shells across your face ? ?

kbob : I said bandolier, I meant sling on that'n, sorry. Very confusing when I go back and read it, too. Unless you sleep in it though, I think a bandolier is probably a silly option as well.

Sorry about that I put the side saddle on before taking it to the gun range it that picture I posted. I realized the I needed to keep my left hand on the shotgun and reload with my right hand.

I was using my Mossberg Maverick 88 for HD and had the TacStar side saddle on the receiver instead of the buttstock.
