I'm wondering if the Knoxx SpecOps Stock shell holder (PowerPak) is any good? Side Saddle better on an 870?
Thanks,
JR

I have one but don't use it anymore. The shell holders are way too tight if all five slots are loaded.

The raised cheek rest is great if you have an optic though. And the battery holder is handy.

Everythig Chupacabra said is true. The shell holders are Way too tight, and the cheek piece is really high. But it sure looks cool, and the recoil reduction is great. Regardless, I really enjoy my Knoxx Spec Ops.

Not tight for me....

I have my shell holder on, and it is not tight at all. I am glad it worked out because I wanted to remove my existing side saddle. No complaints here.

Also, the lower cheek rest is the only thing you should have on there if you are not using optics. That high cheek rest brings (at least for me) my view of the muzzle WAY out of whack.

Then again, I am a bead kind of a guy. That, and I just can't afford an EoTech :(

Thanks, I was going to ask if anyone had any experience with that. By "an optic" I assume you're referring to a scope (or red-dot sight). Is that correct? If so that'll be really helpful. I'm hoping that the surface of the rest will also help with lessening the impact of the otherwise rounded top of the stock smacking me in the cheek whenever I put a slug through my Mossberg.

I wondered if the low cheek rest works, sounds like it does.
If the shell holders aretoo tight can they be sanded out some to make a proper fit?

Yes. I mounted an inexpensive BSA holographic sight on my 870 just for fun and the higher cheek rest worked great. It greatly assisted in putting my eyes level with the sight and gave my cheek something to rest on. Otherwise it would have been uncomfortable.

I was thinking about doing this but just haven't gotten around to it.
