Hello,
just wanted to know how everyones dealings with shilen barrels have been?
Also how well do they shoot?
thanks

I have a buddy here that is a member of the Police Department's SWAT team. Their snipers use Shilen barrels as Shilen is their sponsor when they compete in national and international sniper competitions. They have been the National champs 2 of the last 5 years and have placed 2nd and 3rd in the last International competitions. They use the same Shilen barrels that they sell to the public.

My issued rifle had (no longer in the same agency) a shilen barrel and now my personal target/tac rifle wears a shilen select match barrel. With 168gr federal gold medal it will print .3moa all day long, and it cleans up very quickly which is a sign of a very smooth bore.

shilen is a little costly compared to some others, but the results are visible.

For the most absolute tack driving accuracy that money can buy shilen is hard to beat with their top of the line barrels.
the question is, do you need that kind of accuracy?

I have a 26 inch Shilen barrel on my FN Mauser. The chambering is 7x57 Ackley. My rifle is accurate to MOA or slightly less, out to 300 yards. Thats the longest range I have tried it at. Most of the deer I have killed with this rilfe were at less than 150 yards though.
