Sweet! I'm going to buy some today! I love the walnut grips better than the rosewood ones a good bit.

In all honesty I feel like I should mention the one flaw my cimarron seems to have which bothers me a little bit. The top of the grip safety is SHARP! Maybe I'm a wuss but it makes a high grip on the gun very uncomfortable on the web of my hand. I'm not sure what's going on with it but here is a pic. With the area circled.

Thanks imashooter. I do have one of those! I assume I need to remove the grip safety to do this. What would you finish it with? Sharpie marker? Lol

I feel like I hijacked the thread. I don't want to start a whole new one though.

Range report. The gun shoots AMAZING. It has less recoil than my beretta 92. This is my first 1911 so maybe they all are like that. It was very accurate. The first mag made a single hole on the target. The sharp edges on the grip safety didn't bite my hand as much as I thought it would. The gun ran flawlessly except once the mag came out I assum I didn't latch it all the way.

Anyway, I'm really happy with it. Thanks again Ray, Imashooter, Jimster, and everyone else who weighed in on this thread! :)

Be best to remove the grip safety. I would finish it off with cold blue. I'd use one of those women's makeup type q-tips which is rounded and blunt on one end and a sharp point on the other. Just follow the directions. Sharpie is ok but will need applying often.

A fine file or small stone will take care of that edge quickly. You can disassemble it but it is not necessary. Cold blue will work but it will not be as durable as the factory bluing.

Hey Elano! Sorry I didn't see those posts. Haha, its perfectly alright! I'll be happy with the Glock (although I admit I'm already looking forward to my future 1911). Thanks a ton for the pics!! Did you order the 01918 grips? I thought those look great :D. Enjoy your new baby!

Thanks
Yours truly -Ray

Congrats on your latest acquisition! Your new Cimarron 1911 looks awesome! Glad to hear it shoots great too! A set of of walnut double diamond grips will complement that shiny blue finish very nicely.

Thanks yall! I did get the grips! I'm so glad they were still available! It really transforms then gun in to what I wanted. I also bought a flat mec gar magazine for it. Sorry for the dim lighting in the pics.

Welcome to the High Luster Blued Cimarron 1911 club! Perfect choice for grips!

Those double diamond grips look great on your Cimarron 1911 but aren't they the same pair you have shown on the thread entitled "New wood Grips Color Mismatch"? In these photos they don't appear as far off from being the same color but there's a very noticeable difference in your other thread.

I was wondering the same because they look good here on the gun but in the pictures in the other thread there seemed to be a much greater contrast, to my eye anyway. They look real nice on the gun here.

Been looking for a GI type 1911 to try a conversion on. One of those Cimmaron guns may be a solution.
