So if you search my post history, you will find that I bought a Kahr CW380 this past January.

http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=741969

During the break in period I had problems with the slide locking back on partially-full magazines. Several hundred rounds out of the "break in period" and the gun is still doing it, with many different shooters. I was initially kind of pissed off at Kahr because I filled out their online Return Authorization form and never got a response. Due to work, family, and various other things that came up this year I haven't dealt with this until today.

So today I finally called Kahr customer service. My call was answered in three rings and a polite gentleman who spoke clear English asked me for my serial number and zip code, confirmed my address, and then told me that Kahr would be covering shipping BOTH ways, and that a FedEx prepaid label would be forthcoming in my email inbox soon. About 10 minutes later I received said label, printed it out. The gun is now on its way back to Kahr.

This is my 3rd Kahr and my first time dealing with their customer service. I will keep everyone updated but the initial contact was very painless.

Good luck. My P380 has made four return trips to Kahr, has had virtually every kind of problem you could dream up at one point or another, and still doesn't function properly after two frame replacements and at least one replacement of every single part in the gun except the stripped-down slide. I hope things go much better for you than they have for me so far.

I have a CW380 that needed a trip back to get running smooth,it has been great since they fixed it.

My Kahr P9 went back to the factory several times for various problems - premature slide lock, no slide lock, striker didn't actuate, failure to fully chamber a live round, trigger pin walkout - but they never did get it working reliably. Kahr did the right thing, paid for shipping both ways, and ultimately they replaced the pistol.

I traded the replacement - unfired - for a Glock 26. Not as neat a package, but the G26 has the virtue of actually working.

From reading various forums I found out a LOT of people were having problems with polymer Kahr pistols . . . looks like some people still are. (Funny how nothing was mentioned in the gun rags that universally lavished praise on these pistols.)

Good luck.

I looked at the Kahr and the lcp and bought the s&w m&p bodyguard. The new one without the laser. It's been perfect so far right out of the box. I still might buy the Kahr, I liked the sights the best.

AustinTX, wow, FOUR trips back to the factory? You're a more patient man than I. I give companies ONE chance to make a firearm work correctly, and if that doesn't do the trick the gun gets dumped, at a loss, problem disclosed to the buyer. I've only had this happen once with a Kimber Custom II that I bought many years ago. Kimber couldn't get it working right after one trip back, and I dumped the gun at a loss.

likesguns, that's reassuring. I really love the form factor and accuracy of this gun, so I hope it comes back working perfectly.

HankB, check my signature, I own and love a Glock 26. I pocket carry that guy almost everywhere. In jeans, in slacks, and in kakis is works perfectly, but it is way too heavy for carry in shorts/light cotton pants…hence my need for a smaller, LIGHTER 380. I had a Kahr PM9 that worked flawlessly after the break in period and a Kahr K9 that was awesome…never should have sold that K9.

jimbo555, that gun is on my list if this one doesn't work out. Without the laser…lasers are stupid.

I had a similar problem with a Kahr P9 back several years ago. What I discovered was that the slide stop was protruding over too far and bullets on the rounds coming up in the magazine would occasionally nudge the inside of it, causing it to move up and lock the slide with a round or two still in the magazine.

I figured out what was going on, took a file to the slide stop to reshape it so that only the follower could make contact with it, and that took care of the problem entirely. I kind of regret selling that Kahr. It wasn't fun to shoot, but it did work after that and was a solid carry gun.

I just received my Kahr CW380 back from the manufacturer. Early Christmas present to me!!!! Pretty quick turnaround time if you ask me. Here's what they said they did:

"Reworked slide barrel hood and slide stop replaced extractor recoil springs Lubed and attested good with 42 rounds"

I will shoot it when I have the chance and will get back to y'all with the results.

Well you guys are making m think twice about picking one up, even though slickguns has them for $219.00. Which I thought was a definite buy.

At that price I would not hesitate,I paid way too much for mine locally but I traded in a gun that I wanted to get rid of.
