Shipping from Hawaii to Colorado

Hey guys, I've got the opportunity to purchase an NDM-86 from Hawaii and was wondering if anyone has ever had to pay shipping from the big islands to the center of the US and how much did it cost you? The rifle weighs approx. 10ish pounds so on the usps shipping calc I assumed worst case scenario of 15 pounds, I guessed box would be 75 inches long (incase the scope was removed and placed in the box it comes in) 12 inches tall and 12 inches wide. Like I said these were kinda higher end of the spectrum guesses, do these seem like accurate approximations and does anyone have experience with shipping from HI to mainland? any help is appreciated.

I would definitely ask the seller to box it smaller than that. No reason the box needs to be larger than 4x8x54

One of my sources says the NMD-86 overall length is around 48 inches. So MachIVshooter is
in the right territory with a 54 inch box after factoring in packing material. Have the muzzle end reinforced if possible, boxed rifles tend to punch thru the end of their packaging with the muzzle when roughly handled.

Could you take the buttstock off to get it in a less gun-shaped box?
