Shipping high cap guns to NY

Looking to buy a Browning BDA .380. All of the newer ones come with a 13 round mag. I know I can buy pre ban mags or low capacity 10 rd mags. Would it be legal to have the gun shipped to me in New York state (not the city) without the high cap. mags? hopefully someone knows.

I believe if you are a resident and ship to a dealer who will hold it for you until the registration is done you are ok. If a hicap is pre AWB it is ok in NYS as well.
That is my understanding of their law. Check NRA/ILA website for their state laws.

You know what, that is probably a better question for whichever FFL you're planning on having receive it. Because also don't forget about NY's fired casing law too.

Yes. It's like having an AR15 shipped here: sure it can accept a 30 round mag, but as long as you don't have a 30 round mag, you're fine.
