Hi, I have approved form 1s to SBR both a SIG MPX (originally purchased as a pistol) and a Ruger 77/357 purchased as a rifle and still in its original 18" configuration. What is the best way to ship theses guns for SBR engraving and later barrel shortening and threading with the 77/357.

I believe the 77/357 could go out USPS priority mail would this be correct? The MPX I'm not so sure about? is it still a pistol or is it a rifle receiver now?

Thanks, Dan

A handgun (pistol) may be shipped USPS but only by an FFL holder. Quite often its cheaper to have an FFL ship a handgun than using UPS or FedEx.

Thanks for the responses! I think I'll try with a local FFL again.

I did try to ship through an FFL originally before I posted this but I mistakenly told the FFL they were on Form 1s and needed to go in for SBR engraving. He didn't seem to want to touch them even though he deals in NFA.

I think what I'll do is just contact a different FFL and tell him I need to mail out a firearm for engraving. I'll leave out all the form 1 and SBR stuff alltogether since they are in original configuration.

Thanks again, Dan
