Do you guys use these steady bags for your range shooting?

What's the deal with this one that has the ties?

Is it used to tie onto this type of stand/rest?

Or are you supposed to put this type of front steady bag on the above stand?

Says they are filled with plastic pellets, I always thought they were filled with sand. Guess they do that for shipping purposes eh?
I had intended to make some of these bags out of some denim jean legs I saved from my sons youth, but at this price I may just be better off buying them?
Thanks
