Last question about GA I promise (rather be safe and legal). Doing the Six-Gap Centrury Race this weekend (for you bicylists out there) in Dohlonnega - Lumpkin County - and staying at my friends Mom's (she's 70!). She would like to shoot my AK and pistols in the back yard. She has 5 acres that is deep and goes downhill into a hollow with a tall hill as a backdrop. we'd be shooting downward into the woods with no house behind us. The only thing I can find is you have to keep 50 yards from a public road and 200 yards from the nearest house. Is this correct and any more info would be appreciated. I'm there to bike not shoot so what is the real deal?

Thanks

You need to find out if Lumpkin county says it OK. Or if she lives in a subdivision that it is OK. The subdivision my property is in, I can hunt, the subdivision that butts up against it says no discharge of firearms.

the regs you posted look like the hunting regulations.

As far as I know, that should be legal. The ONLY restrictions in GA that I know of are the 50/200 yard rules, and depending on how deep country she is, you probably won't have a problem. As far as I know, State law preempts County and Municipal law in such matters.

I really love living in Georgia.
